One of the main criteria in the evaluation of the academic papers, either periodical or promoting, is the selection of the appropriate title. The masters of methodology of the scientific researches have introduced several criteria such as particularity, felicity, attraction, brevity, accuracy and novelty for the titles of the academic papers which are necessary to observe. In this article we try to find an answer to this question that how much the authors and the reviewers of the academic papers in religious studies observed these criteria for choosing the titles of their papers by using a combination of description, comparison, and critique of the titles of 86 papers from the Periodic Journal of Hadith Science as a sample for review and evaluation based on the mentioned criteria so that in this way, we will explain the correct method for choosing the titles of the academic papers in the field of religious studies while we consider the amount of the attention or neglect of the authors and the reviewers to these criteria.
